Mr. Mark Engel
CEO and Director
Mark has considerable experience in founding and building successful Chinese healthcare organizations. In 1991, he founded his first pharmaceutical company in China and sold it in 1997. Along with Dr. Gao Zhan (below), they then founded Excel PharmaStudies (www.excel-china.com) (the largest CRO in China), Haoyisheng (www.haoyisheng.com) (the leading healthcare information and education company in China), Tiger Medical Products (www.tigermedicalproducts.com) (a leading supplier of Chinese made medical devices), and Tiger Pharmaceutical Development (www.tigerpharma.com) (a pharmaceutical development company). Mark is also an investor in Pioneer Pharmaceuticals (one of the largest pharmaceutical sales and marketing organizations in China).

Dr. Gao Zhan
Director
Gao is also a partner in Excel PharmaStudies, Haoyisheng, Tiger Medical Products, Tiger Pharmaceutical Development and an investor in Pioneer Pharmaceuticals. In 1992 he was named as the first general manager of Bayer Pharmaceuticals in China, building the organization from zero to an industry leader in the China market within three years. Gao was born in China and educated in Germany (Ph.d from Max Plank Institute of Biochemistry). He held various positions at Bayer Germany (including running a research lab) prior to becoming their first GM in China.

Dr. Yang Song
Director of Business Development
Dr. Yang has been in the healthcare industry since 1997, holding various management positions in multi-national medical device companies including Becton Dickinson and Company and Esaote Spa. He has an M.B.A. from The University of Edinburgh Management School and a B.Sc. in Medicine from China Medical University.
